The mechanism to achieve this is the use of linked, folding supports in a criss-cross ‘X’ pattern. The contraction of the scissor action can be hydraulic, pneumatic or mechanical.
Electric Scissor Lifts are used when more platform space and weight capacity is needed and less height/reach is needed. They can be used inside and outside and are generally on jobs with flat surfaces such as warehouses and garages.
Rough Terrain Scissors have a rugged design to perform on jobsites with rugged work surfaces and are made to work on unpaved surfaces. These scissors can usually load more weight capacity than any other type of boom or scissor.
